The Taihu Lake is a large lake clad in the Orient. Geological relics and life remain in the Taihu Lake Basin showed the blessed characteristics of this land as a Noahs Ark. About 6,000 years ago, the Lake evolved from a saucer-shaped low-lying watery plain in the long geological movement and expanded into the third largest freshwater lake in China. My hometown is in Changxing County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Situated on the southwest shore of Taihu Lake. The Xintang Fishing Port photographed is located on the north bank of the exit of Changxing Port. The rich fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish in Taihu Lake bring everything in life to the fishermen who use boats as their home. During the fishing season every year, a large number of fresh fish are concentrated in Xintang Fishing Port, which is very lively.
However, swamping, eutrophication, and even cyanobacterial blooms occurred in the Taihu Lake with our excessive use. Therefore, how to protect the Lake has become a sacred responsibility of us. From January 1, 2021, the key waters of the Changjiang River Valley will enter a 10-year ban on fishing. For Taihu Lake, the longest period of fishing ban in history will provide sufficient rest and recuperation time for the restoration of aquatic biological resources and the improvement of the aquatic ecological environment. The fishing rights, boats and nets of the fishermen will be taken back by government departments and compensated. All fishermen are included in social security, and various ways are used to promote fishermen's employment and entrepreneurship, and the fishermen's production and lifestyle that have lasted for many years have changed.
